Help with the Redax Chrome extension

Contact

Email support@redax.pro. If Redax missed something it should have hidden, or hid something it shouldn't have, include the kind of value (for example "a GUID in the Azure portal") but never the real value itself.

Getting Started

  1. Click the Redax icon in the Chrome toolbar. Pin it from the puzzle-piece menu if you don't see it.
  2. Click Enable on this site and approve Chrome's prompt. Sensitive values on the page are covered right away.
  3. Use the switches in the popup to turn redaction or individual categories on and off.

Common Questions

Some Parts of a Page Aren't Redacted

Some sites, such as the Azure portal, load parts of the page from other domains. Open the Redax popup: if it shows "Parts of this page come from other sites", click Enable related sites.

Can Redax Hide the Address Bar?

No. Chrome doesn't let extensions change its own toolbar or address bar. When presenting, share a single tab instead of your whole screen, which hides the address bar from viewers.

The Keyboard Shortcut Doesn't Work

Set or change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

Does Redax Send My Data Anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and Redax makes no network requests. See the privacy policy.
